The Tsunami of 26th December 2004 hit five of the nine provinces and thirteen of the twenty-five districts in Sri Lanka, leaving in its wake a trail of mass death and destruction. It was the worst disaster to strike the country and the aftermath clearly called for the largest reconstruction, relief and rehabilitation operation we will witness in a long time.

To play its part in this massive rebuilding effort Suntel Limited, Sri Lanka’s leading fixed wireless operator initiated the Suntel Relief Trust Fund.

This Trust Fund will operate for a period of two years and will assist in providing relief in the areas of Communities, Livelihood, Children and Telecommunication.
